Territory

The ancient Romans called the territory Corrigium, that means a strip of emerged land, that gave origin to the name Correzzola.

After the collapse of the Roman Empire, the territory was abandoned and remained in that condition until the arrival of the Benedictine of Santa Giustina’s Monastery of Padua in the Middle Ages, that started a long patient work of land reclamation transforming these valleys in healthy and fertile grounds.

Correzzola’s closeness to places of unique naturalistic interest like the “Delta del Po” natural park, the “Colli Euganei” park, Venice lagoon and the coast of Veneto, allows you to take this place as a starting point for many different excursions.

Bicycle or horse rides are organized for those people who love nature and want to visit the Correzzola country with its Benedictine Courts or the near lagoon.

Daily trips can be made not only in important cities of art as Venice, Padua, Vicenza, but also in the smallest ones as Chioggia, Este, Monselice, Montagnana and Arquà Petrarca, located in the surroundings.
